The ATA6560-GAQW-N is a high-speed CAN FD ready CAN transceiver from Microchip Technology, compliant with ISO 11898-2, ISO 11898-5, and SAE J2284 standards. When selecting this device, verify the single 4.5V to 5.5V supply (VCC) and interface it with a 5V CAN protocol controller as there is no separate VIO pin for logic level shifting. The device supports data rates up to 5 Mbps, enabling CAN FD communication for faster data transmission. The 120mV typical receiver hysteresis provides excellent noise immunity, while its operating junction temperature spans -40°C to +150°C. The ATA6560 offers three operating modes: Normal, Silent (receive-only, selected via NSIL pin), and Standby (very low current consumption with wake-up via CAN bus). ESD handling is robust, and undervoltage detection on VCC enhances system safety, and a TXD dominant time-out prevents bus lock-up. Ideal applications include automotive electronics such as body control modules, power train systems, infotainment networks, as well as industrial automation requiring robust CAN-based communication, all where low-power standby with selective bus wake-up is essential.
