BQ29209DRBR TI Battery Management
The BQ29209 is a secondary overvoltage protection IC for 2-cell Li-Ion battery packs. It monitors both cells independently and triggers an output when any cell exceeds the programmed protection threshold. The device features high accuracy of ±1.0% and includes fixed delay timers to prevent false triggering. When an overvoltage condition is detected, the OUT pin activates to drive an external fuse or protection circuit. The BQ29209 operates from 4V to 8V and consumes 1µA typical supply current. Selection is ideal for 2-series battery pack secondary protection requiring high accuracy. Applications include notebook computer batteries, power tool batteries, and portable medical device batteries requiring redundant overvoltage protection for 2-cell configurations.
