BQ294700DSGT TI Battery Management
The BQ2947 is a secondary overvoltage protection IC for 1-cell to 5-cell Li-Ion battery packs. It monitors each cell voltage independently and triggers an output when any cell exceeds the programmed protection threshold. The device features high accuracy of ±0.5% and includes fixed delay timers to prevent false triggering. When an overvoltage condition is detected, the OUT pin activates to drive an external fuse or protection circuit. The BQ2947 operates from 4V to 25V and consumes 1µA typical supply current. Selection is ideal for battery pack secondary protection requiring high accuracy and low power. Applications include notebook computer batteries, power tool batteries, e-bike battery packs, and portable medical device batteries requiring redundant overvoltage protection.
