BQ7692003PWR TI Battery Management

The BQ76920 is a high-accuracy analog front-end (AFE) for 5-cell to 15-cell Li-Ion and Li-FePO₄ battery packs, operating from a 6V to 25V supply. It features independent cell voltage measurement with 1-mV resolution, current monitoring with a 16-bit delta-sigma ADC for coulomb counting, and temperature sensing via external thermistors. Key selection features include passive cell balancing (programmable balancing timers and watchdog), integrated short-circuit (SCD) and overload (OCD) protection with two thresholds and optional shutdown, and an I2C interface (400kHz) for host communication. The device includes automatic fault recovery after cell voltage balancing and a 3.3V/5V tolerant digital I/O. Operating current is 25µA in NORMAL mode and 0.5µA in SLEEP mode. Packaged in a 20-pin TSSOP (PW) (4.40mm width), it is ideal for battery management systems (BMS) in professional power tools, e-bikes, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and energy storage systems requiring precise cell monitoring, robust protection, and low quiescent current.
