The BYV28-200-TAP from Vishay is a 200 V, 3.5 A ultrafast avalanche sinterglass rectifier in a hermetically sealed SOD‑64 through‑hole package, purpose‑built for high‑speed switching and high‑temperature operation. For selection, it delivers a 30 ns reverse recovery time, a low forward voltage of 1.1 V at 5 A, 90 A surge capability, and only 100 µA reverse leakage at 200 V. The controlled avalanche characteristic handles repetitive 20 mJ non‑repetitive avalanche energy, while the glass‑passivated junction operates reliably from –55 °C to +175 °C. In application, it excels in switch mode power supply rectification, inverter and converter freewheeling, battery chargers, motor control systems, and machine tool controls where fast, rugged, high‑frequency rectification is essential.
