The CD4050B is a hex non-inverting buffer with high-voltage CMOS technology (up to 20V). It features high sink current (4mA) for driving heavy loads and is specifically designed to handle input voltages up to 15V when powered by 5V (TTL to CMOS conversion). Selection is driven by high-voltage conversion and buffering. Applications include driving high-capacitance lines, converting TTL logic levels to CMOS logic levels, and as a general-purpose CMOS buffer for oscillators or clock lines in industrial control equipment requiring wide voltage tolerance.
