The CD4051B is a single 8-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer with logic-level conversion capability. It operates from 3V to 20V single supply or ±2.5V to ±10V dual supplies, making it suitable for both digital and analog signal switching. The device features low on-resistance of 240Ω typical at 10V, with break-before-make switching to prevent signal contention. It includes an inhibit input for disabling all channels, placing the outputs in high-impedance state. The CD4051B provides extremely low leakage current (10nA typical) and low crosstalk between channels. Selection is ideal for high-voltage analog routing in mixed-signal systems. Applications include analog signal multiplexing for data acquisition systems, audio signal routing, sensor scanning in industrial controls, and function generation in programmable analog circuits requiring wide voltage tolerance and low power consumption .
