CD74HCT4094E TI Shift Registers

The CD74HCT4094 is an 8-stage serial shift register with storage latch and 3-state parallel outputs, featuring TTL-compatible inputs. It operates from 4.5V to 5.5V supply. Data is shifted on positive clock transitions, and the data in each shift register stage is transferred to the storage register when the strobe input is high. The 3-state outputs are enabled when the output-enable signal is high. Two serial outputs (QS1 and QS2) are available for cascading multiple devices: QS1 provides data on positive clock edges for high-speed cascading, while QS2 provides data on negative clock edges for slower clock rise times. The device is available in 16-pin PDIP package for through-hole mounting. Selection is ideal for I/O expansion in 5V TTL/CMOS systems requiring serial-to-parallel conversion with 3-state outputs. Applications include LED matrix drivers, seven-segment display control, digital clocks, and industrial control panels requiring multiple output expansions with simple serial interface.
