The DS14C89AM/NOPB is a quad CMOS RS-232 line receiver from Texas Instruments (formerly National Semiconductor) designed to convert RS-232 input signals to TTL/CMOS output levels . It meets the requirements of TIA/EIA-232-E and ITU V.28 standards , operating from a single 5-V supply (4.5V to 5.5V) and supporting data rates up to 120 kbps . Each of the four receivers features Schmitt-trigger inputs for enhanced noise immunity with input hysteresis of 1 V typical . The device is characterized for 0°C to 70°C operation and is fabricated in CMOS technology for low power consumption with typical ICC of 0.9 mA . Housed in a 14-pin SOIC (D) package (3.9mm × 8.65mm), it operates over 0°C to 70°C .
