The DS90UB988RURRQ1 is an automotive-grade (AEC-Q100) FPD-Link IV deserializer from Texas Instruments with integrated 4.2 Gbps to 5.3 Gbps video bandwidth, supporting next-generation automotive display applications. It deserializes a single FPD-Link IV serial stream into dual OLDI (OpenLDI) or 24-bit RGB video outputs, supporting up to 8K (7680 × 4320) resolutions at 60 Hz. The device features bidirectional control channel with I2C, GPIO, and SPI pass-through, advanced display management features including video slicing and split screen, and comprehensive link diagnostics. It supports multiple panel types including LCD, OLED, and micro-LED displays, with integrated compensation for up to 20 meters of cable. Housed in a 64-pin VQFN (RUR) package (9mm × 9mm), it operates over -40°C to 105°C. Applications include automotive 4K and 8K infotainment displays, high-resolution digital instrument clusters, passenger entertainment systems, and any application requiring ultra-high-resolution video transmission.
