The LAN8742A-CZ-TR is a compact 10/100 Ethernet physical layer transceiver from Microchip Technology that supports RMII interface and integrates HP Auto‑MDIX, flexPWR technology, cable diagnostics and Wake‑on‑LAN functionality in a 24‑pin SQFN (4×4 mm) package. When selecting this device, confirm a single 3.3 V supply (I/O voltage 1.6 V to 3.6 V) and an operating temperature range of 0 °C to +70 °C (industrial variant available for –40 °C to +85 °C). Use a low‑cost 25 MHz crystal for the reference clock and verify that the host MAC supports the RMII interface. The internal 1.2 V regulator can be disabled to allow external power, reducing system consumption.
