It features low dropout voltage of 1.3V typical at 3A load, with 0.003% line regulation and 0.1% load regulation. Built-in protection includes current limiting and thermal shutdown. The device is stable with ceramic, tantalum, or aluminum electrolytic output capacitors. Packaged in TO-263 (DDPAK) for surface-mount high-current applications.
