It features a 150-kHz fixed switching frequency and requires only 4 external components. The device includes thermal shutdown, current limiting, and an on/off control pin. Efficiency is up to 80% typical. Packaged in a 5-pin TO-263 (SX) for surface mounting, it is standard for easy-to-use high-current step-down regulation. Applications include 12-V to 3.3-V conversion in industrial controls, automotive electronics, battery-powered equipment, and post-regulation for switching converters requiring up to 3 A with fixed 3.3-V output.
