It features a 150kHz fixed switching frequency and requires only 4 external components. The device includes thermal shutdown, current limiting, and an on/off control pin, with efficiency up to 80% typical. Output tolerance is ±4% over line and load conditions. Packaged in a 5-pin TO-220 (T) for through-hole mounting, it is standard for easy-to-use high-current step-down regulation. Applications include 12V to 5V conversion in industrial controls, automotive electronics, battery-powered equipment, and post-regulation for switching converters requiring up to 3A output.
