The LM3478 is a versatile low-side N-channel controller for switching regulators, suitable for boost, flyback, SEPIC, and forward converter topologies. It operates from a 2.97-V to 40-V supply and features a 1-A totem-pole gate driver for driving an external MOSFET. The device includes an internal 1.26-V reference with 2.5% accuracy, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, slope compensation, and a programmable switching frequency up to 1 MHz. Packaged in an 8-pin SOIC, the LM3478 is ideal for portable and industrial power supplies requiring high-voltage step-up conversion or isolated outputs.
