The MAX3232CDR is a 3 V to 5.5 V RS-232 line driver/receiver from Texas Instruments in SOIC-16 package , featuring two drivers and two receivers with ±15-kV HBM ESD protection. For selection, verify single 3 V to 5.5 V supply, data rate up to 250 kbps, low supply current of 300 µA typical, 1-µA shutdown current, meets TIA/EIA-232-F standards, and operating temperature from 0°C to +70°C. Features include proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage, requires only four 0.1-µF external capacitors, and low power consumption.
