MIC2981/82YN MICROCHIP PMIC - Power Distribution Switches, Load Drivers

The MIC2981/82YN is an 8-channel, high-voltage (up to 50V) high-current (up to 500mA per channel) source driver array from Microchip, designed to directly drive inductive loads such as relays and solenoids from logic-level TTL, CMOS, or PMOS control signals. When selecting this driver, ensure the supply voltage (VS) is between 5V and 50V, the operating temperature falls within -40°C to +85°C, and the current per channel does not exceed 500mA (limited by package power dissipation). The device features transient-protected outputs and integral clamp diodes to safeguard against voltage spikes, enhancing reliability in harsh environments. Its non-inverting inputs are compatible with 5V TTL and 5V to 15V CMOS/PMOS logic. Typical applications include relay and solenoid switching, stepping motor control, and driving LED or incandescent displays in industrial automation, consumer electronics, and automotive systems.
