The P82B715 is an I2C bus extender capable of increasing the I2C bus capacitance from 400 pF to up to 3000 pF, operating from 4.5 V to 12 V supply . It features 30-mA sink capability on the buffered bus (I2Cx pins) and 3-mA sink capability on the local bus. The device allows long-distance I2C communication by driving high capacitance loads without violating rise time requirements . Operating temperature range is –40°C to 85°C. Selection is ideal for extending I2C bus reach and driving multiple devices on long cables. Applications include industrial control systems, automotive I2C networks, and building automation where the I2C bus must span long distances across multiple PCBs or cables.
