The SN65C3232E is a dual RS-232 line driver/receiver operating from a single 3 V to 5.5 V supply, with a charge pump requiring only four 0.1 µF external capacitors. It features two drivers and two receivers meeting TIA/EIA-232-F standards, supporting data rates up to 250 kbps. The device provides ±15 kV ESD protection on RS-232 pins and includes an automatic power-down feature that reduces supply current to 1 µA when no valid RS-232 signal is present.
