The SN65C3232E is a dual RS-232 line driver/receiver operating from a single 3-V to 5.5-V supply, with a charge pump requiring only four 0.1-µF external capacitors. It features two drivers and two receivers meeting TIA/EIA-232-F standards, supporting data rates up to 250 kbps. The device provides ±15-kV ESD protection on RS-232 pins and includes an automatic power-down feature that reduces supply current to 1-µA when no valid RS-232 signal is present. Packaged in a 16-pin TSSOP (PW) (5 mm × 4.4 mm). Ideal for battery-powered electronics, handheld instruments, PDAs, and point-of-sale terminals.
