The SN65HVD1780-Q1 is an automotive-grade fault-protected RS-485 transceiver qualified for AEC-Q100, operating from 3.15 V to 5.5 V supply. It features bus-pin fault protection up to ±70 V, a wide common-mode range of –20 V to +25 V, and data rates up to 115 kbps. The device provides a 1/8 unit-load receiver allowing up to 256 nodes on a single bus, with a failsafe receiver output for open, shorted, or idle buses. Packaged in an 8-pin SOIC, it is ideal for automotive communication networks requiring robustness against bus faults. Applications include body control modules, engine control units, infotainment systems, and industrial controls requiring reliable RS-485 communication.
