The SN65HVD1781DR is an RS-485 transceiver from Texas Instruments designed for harsh industrial environments, featuring extended common-mode voltage range and high fault protection. The device operates over a supply voltage range of 3.3V to 5V and supports data rates up to 115 kbps. It features a wide common-mode voltage range of -20V to +25V and includes bus-pin ESD protection exceeding 15 kV. The device includes thermal shutdown protection and a low-power standby mode. It allows up to 256 nodes on the bus due to its 1/8-unit load receiver input impedance. Housed in an 8-pin SOIC (D) package, it operates over -40°C to 125°C.
