The SN65HVD1785 is a fault-protected RS-485 transceiver designed for harsh industrial environments . It operates with a 3.15-V to 5.5-V supply and features bus-pin fault protection up to ±70 V, a wide common-mode range of -20 V to +25 V, and data rates up to 10 Mbps. The device also provides failsafe receiver output for open, shorted, or idle buses and a low standby supply current of 1 µA typical. Packaged in an 8-pin SOIC (D) (4.9 mm × 3.91 mm), it is ideal for industrial communication networks requiring robustness against shorts to power supplies, mis-wiring, and connector failures.
