The SN74HCS251 is a 8-input multiplexer with 3-state outputs featuring Schmitt-trigger inputs for improved noise immunity. It operates from 2V to 6V and provides complementary outputs (Y and Y-bar). The device includes an output enable that forces outputs into high-impedance state and a select input for choosing one of eight data lines. Built-in hysteresis on all inputs provides tolerance for slow or noisy signals. Propagation delay is 14ns typical at 5V. Selection is ideal for data selection in noisy industrial environments.
