The SN74HCT540 is an octal inverting buffer and line driver with 3-state outputs, operating from 4.5 V to 5.5 V supply. It features TTL-compatible input thresholds for direct interfacing with TTL logic while providing CMOS output levels. The device includes two active-low output enable pins for flexible bus control, allowing independent enabling of the 8-bit bus. Outputs are inverting with high drive capability (±8 mA at 5 V).
