The SN74HCT574 is an octal edge-triggered D-type flip-flop with 3-state outputs, operating from 4.5V to 5.5V supply. It features TTL-compatible input thresholds and positive-edge triggering on the clock (CLK) input, with outputs set to logic levels present at the data (D) inputs. The device provides high drive capability suitable for bus driving applications and includes a buffered output enable (OE) that places the eight outputs in high-impedance state when asserted. OE does not affect internal flip-flop operation, allowing data retention or entry while outputs are disabled. Selection is ideal for implementing buffer registers and working registers.
