The SN74LV244A is an octal buffer and line driver with 3-state outputs, offering identical functionality to the SN74LV244ADBR but in a 20-pin SOIC wide-body package. It operates from 2V to 5.5V supply with propagation delay of 7.5ns typical. The device features two independent 4-bit buffers, each with its own output enable pin (active-low). Non-inverting outputs provide high drive capability of ±16mA for driving bus lines or capacitive loads. Quiescent current is 20µA maximum. Selection is ideal for board-level bus driving in 5V and 3.3V systems requiring wider package footprint. Applications include memory address drivers, backplane interfacing, data bus buffering, and peripheral driving in industrial controls and telecommunications.
