The SN74LVTH245A is an octal bus transceiver with 3-state outputs designed for 3.3-V VCC operation, but with the ability to interface with 5-V system environments. It features a direction control (DIR) input for bidirectional data flow and an output enable (OE) to disable both ports. The device includes bus-hold circuitry on the data inputs, which retains the last valid logic state on a floating bus, eliminating the need for external pull-up or pull-down resistors. It provides high output drive (±32 mA at 3.3 V) and is designed for live insertion. Packaged in a 20-pin TSSOP, it is ideal for driving backplanes, memory buses, and processor interfaces in computing, telecom, and industrial systems.
