The ST3232ECTR is a 3V to 5.5V powered RS-232 transceiver from STMicroelectronics with two drivers and two receivers in a TSSOP-16 package . For selection, verify single 3V to 5.5V supply, data rate up to 250kbps, 300µA supply current, 0°C to +70°C operation, and ESD protection of ±15kV HBM and ±8kV IEC 1000-4-2 contact discharge on RS-232 pins . Features include proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage, 6V/µs minimum slew rate, meets EIA/TIA-232 specifications down to 3V, and requires only four 0.1µF external capacitors.
