The TCA1116PWR is a high-performance, low-voltage 16-bit I2C-bus I/O expander from Texas Instruments designed to provide seamless integration into microcontroller-based systems. It operates over a supply voltage range of 1.65V to 5.5V, making it compatible with most low-voltage microcontroller systems and ensuring power efficiency. The device provides 16 additional I/O ports, which can be individually set to input or output via configuration registers, allowing flexible and versatile expansion of the host controller's capabilities. Utilizing the industry-standard I2C-bus interface, the TCA1116PWR supports both 100 kHz Standard-mode and 400 kHz Fast-mode clock frequencies.
