TCA9534DWR TI I/O Expanders

The TCA9534DWR is an 8-bit I2C-bus and SMBus I/O expander from Texas Instruments operating over a supply voltage range of 1.65V to 5.5V. The device provides general-purpose parallel input/output (I/O) expansion for the two-line bidirectional I2C bus (or SMBus) protocol, supporting both 100-kHz (Standard-mode) and 400-kHz (Fast-mode) clock frequencies. I/O expanders such as the TCA9534 provide a simple solution when additional I/Os are needed for switches, sensors, push-buttons, LEDs, fans, and other similar devices. Key features include an open-drain active-low interrupt output that alerts the master when any input port state changes, three hardware address pins allowing up to eight devices on the same I2C bus, configurable I/O direction and polarity inversion registers, internal power-on reset, noise filter on SCL/SDA inputs, and latched outputs with high-current drive capability for directly driving LEDs. Housed in a 16-pin SOIC (DW) package, it operates over -40°C to 85°C. Applications include servers, routers, personal computers, personal electronics, industrial automation, and GPIO-limited processor systems requiring 8-bit I/O expansion.
