TCA9554APWR TI I/O Expanders

The TCA9554APWR is an 8-bit I2C-bus and SMBus I/O expander from Texas Instruments providing general-purpose parallel input/output (I/O) expansion for the two-line bidirectional I2C bus protocol. It operates over a supply voltage range of 1.65V to 5.5V and supports both 100-kHz (Standard-mode) and 400-kHz (Fast-mode) I2C clock frequencies. The device features 8 I/O pins that can be individually configured as input or output via an I/O direction register, along with a polarity inversion register for input polarity configuration. Key features include an open-drain active-low interrupt output that alerts the master controller when any input port state differs from its corresponding input port register state, three hardware address pins allowing up to eight devices on the same I2C/SMBus, internal power-on reset, noise filter on SCL/SDA inputs, and latched outputs with high-current drive capability for directly driving LEDs. Housed in a 16-pin TSSOP (PW) package, it operates over -40°C to 85°C. Applications include servers, routers, personal computers, personal electronics, industrial automation, and GPIO-limited processor systems requiring 8-bit I/O expansion.
