TCA9554DWR TI I/O Expanders

The TCA9554DWR is an 8-bit I2C-bus and SMBus I/O expander from Texas Instruments providing general-purpose parallel input/output (I/O) expansion for the two-line bidirectional I2C bus (or SMBus) protocol. The device operates with a power supply voltage ranging from 1.65V to 5.5V, supports 100-kHz (Standard-mode) and 400-kHz (Fast-mode) clock frequencies, and provides 8 I/O lines. I/O expanders such as the TCA9554 provide a simple solution when additional I/Os are needed for switches, sensors, push-buttons, LEDs, fans, and other similar devices. Key features include an open-drain active-low interrupt output that is generated whenever an input port changes state, three hardware selectable address pins (A0, A1, A2) allowing up to eight devices on the same I2C bus, configurable I/O direction and polarity inversion registers, internal power-on reset, noise filter on SCL/SDA inputs, and latched outputs with high-current drive capability for directly driving LEDs. Housed in a 16-pin SOIC (DW) package, it operates over -40°C to 85°C. Applications include servers, routers, personal computers, personal electronics, industrial automation, and GPIO-limited processor systems requiring 8-bit I/O expansion.
