TCAL6416PWR TI I/O Expanders

The TCAL6416PWR is a 16-bit I2C-bus and SMBus I/O expander from Texas Instruments featuring Agile I/O technology with ultra-low power consumption and advanced performance optimization. The device operates over a supply voltage range of 1.65V to 5.5V and supports 100-kHz (Standard-mode), 400-kHz (Fast-mode), and 1-MHz (Fast-mode Plus) I2C clock frequencies. The device provides 16 general-purpose I/O pins with enhanced features including programmable output drive strength for EMI and power optimization, programmable pull-up and pull-down resistors on each I/O, latchable inputs for glitch filtering, maskable interrupt with interrupt status register, and programmable open-drain or push-pull outputs. Key features also include ultra-low standby current consumption, open-drain active-low interrupt output, three hardware address pins allowing up to eight devices on the same I2C/SMBus, active-low reset input, internal power-on reset, and noise filter on SCL/SDA inputs. Each I/O can sink up to 25 mA for direct LED drive. Housed in a 24-pin TSSOP (PW) package, it operates over -40°C to 85°C.
