The TCAN1043ADRQ1 is an automotive-grade (AEC-Q100) high-speed CAN FD transceiver from Texas Instruments that meets the physical layer requirements of the ISO 11898-2:2016 high-speed CAN specification. It supports both classical CAN and CAN FD data rates up to 8 Mbps. The device features a wide input operational voltage range, VIO level shifting from 1.7V to 5.5V, and includes five operating modes: Normal, Silent, Standby, Low-power Sleep mode, and Listen-only mode. The high-voltage INH output provides system power control, enabling selective enabling of various power supplies to reduce battery current consumption. Local wake-up support via the WAKE pin and remote wake-up via CAN bus are included. Protection features include ±58-V CAN bus fault tolerance, load dump support on VSUP, under-voltage protection, thermal shutdown protection, and TXD dominant state timeout. Housed in a 14-pin SOIC (D) package, it operates over -40°C to 150°C. Applications include automotive body control modules, gateway ECUs, battery management systems, and infotainment systems requiring low-power standby and selective wake functionality.
