The THVD1406DRLR is a low-power RS-485 transceiver from Texas Instruments operating over a supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and supporting data rates up to 10 Mbps. It features a wide common-mode voltage range of -7V to +12V, bus-pin ESD protection exceeding 15 kV, and 1/8-unit load receiver input impedance allowing up to 256 nodes on the bus. The device includes a fail-safe receiver, low-power shutdown mode, and thermal shutdown protection. Housed in a 5-pin SOT-583 (DRL) package, it operates over -40°C to 125°C. Applications include space-constrained industrial applications, building automation, and any system requiring RS-485 data transmission in a compact package.
