The THVD1426DR is a half-duplex RS-485 transceiver from Texas Instruments operating over a supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and supporting data rates up to 12 Mbps. It features a wide common-mode voltage range of -7V to +12V, bus-pin ESD protection exceeding 15 kV, and 1/8-unit load receiver input impedance allowing up to 256 nodes on the bus. The device includes a fail-safe receiver that ensures a logic-high output when inputs are open or shorted, a low-power shutdown mode for power savings, and thermal shutdown protection. Housed in an 8-pin SOIC (D) package, it operates over -40°C to 125°C. Applications include industrial automation, motor control, building automation, telecommunications equipment, and any system requiring RS-485 data transmission in a compact SOIC package.
