The THVD1451DRBT is a noise-immune RS-485/RS-422 transceiver from Texas Instruments, designed for rugged industrial environments. It operates over a wide supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and supports data rates up to 50 Mbps, with differential output exceeding 2.1 V for PROFIBUS compatibility when using a 5-V supply. The device features robust ESD protection on bus I/O pins: ±30-kV HBM, ±18-kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge, and ±25-kV IEC 61000-4-2 air-gap discharge. Additional protection includes ±4-kV IEC 61000-4-4 fast transient burst immunity. Key features include an extended common-mode range of ±15 V, large receiver hysteresis for noise rejection, low power consumption with standby supply current less than 1 µA, and 1/8-unit load allowing up to 256 nodes on the bus. Housed in an 8-pin VSON (DRB) package, it operates over -40°C to 125°C.
