The THVD1500DR is an RS-485 transceiver from Texas Instruments designed for industrial applications, offering robust communication with low power consumption. The device operates over a supply voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V and supports data rates up to 10 Mbps. It features a wide common-mode voltage range of -7V to +12V and includes bus-pin ESD protection exceeding 15 kV. The device allows up to 256 nodes on the bus due to its 1/8-unit load receiver input impedance. It features thermal shutdown protection, a low-power shutdown mode, and includes a fail-safe receiver that ensures a logic-high output when inputs are open or shorted. Housed in an 8-pin SOIC (D) package, it operates over -40°C to 125°C.
