The THVD2410DRBR is a noise-immune RS-485/RS-422 transceiver from Texas Instruments designed for rugged industrial environments. It operates over a wide supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and supports data rates up to 500 kbps. The device features ±70-V bus pin fault protection, significantly higher than standard RS-485 transceivers, along with ±18-kV IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection. Additional features include a wide common-mode range of ±15 V, large receiver hysteresis for noise rejection, low power consumption with standby supply current less than 1 µA, and 1/8-unit load allowing up to 256 nodes on the bus. Housed in an 8-pin VSON (DRB) package, it operates over -40°C to 125°C. Applications include industrial automation, building automation, HVAC systems, and any system requiring RS-485 communication with enhanced fault protection.
