The TPS51396A is a 6A synchronous step-down converter with D-CAP3™ mode control, operating from 4.5V to 24V input. It integrates low RDS(on) MOSFETs (19mΩ/8.2mΩ) for high efficiency and features a 700kHz typical switching frequency that can be adjusted via external resistor. D-CAP3™ control requires no external compensation, simplifying design and providing fast transient response. The device features voltage and overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, and includes pre-biased startup capability. The TPS51396A supports 1% output voltage accuracy. Selection is ideal for point-of-load (POL) conversion in memory and computing systems requiring high current and simple design. Applications include DDR memory termination (VTT) and VDDQ supplies, solid-state drives, notebook computers, and industrial embedded systems requiring 6A step-down conversion with fast transient response.
