The TPS54628 is a 6A synchronous step-down converter operating from 4.5V to 18V inputs. It features D-CAP2™ mode control for fast transient performance and supports a switching frequency up to 650 kHz. The device integrates very low RDS(on) MOSFETs (26 mΩ/19 mΩ) to achieve high efficiency. It includes a pre-biased startup feature. Selection is optimal for high-current POL conversions in space-constrained systems. Typical applications include low-voltage DSP and FPGA core supplies, distributed power systems, and consumer electronics such as gaming consoles and hard disk drives.
