The TPS56628 is a 6A synchronous step-down converter with D-CAP2™ mode control requiring no external compensation. It operates from 4.5V to 18V input and integrates low RDS(on) MOSFETs (22mΩ/12mΩ) for high efficiency. The device features 650kHz switching frequency and includes pre-biased startup capability. D-CAP2™ control provides fast transient response with minimal external component count. Selection is ideal for point-of-load (POL) conversion in space-constrained designs. Applications include high-density networking cards, digital TV power supplies, FPGA and ASIC core rails in servers, and storage equipment requiring 6A capability with simple design.
