TPS62231DRYR TI Voltage Regulators - DC DC Switching Regulators

The TPS62231 is a high-frequency synchronous step-down DC-DC converter optimized for battery-powered portable applications. It operates from 2.05V to 6V input and delivers up to 500mA output current with fixed output voltage of 1.8V. The device features 2MHz switching frequency, allowing the use of tiny 1µH inductors and 4.7µF output capacitors. DCS-Control™ (Direct Control with Seamless) topology provides high efficiency up to 94% and excellent load transient response. Quiescent current is 22µA typical, with power-save mode maintaining efficiency at light loads. For noise-sensitive applications, the device can be forced to PWM mode. The TPS62231 supports 100% duty cycle for lowest dropout and features high PSRR up to 90dB, making it suitable for replacing linear regulators. Selection is ideal for LDO replacement in portable and low-power wireless systems. Applications include smartphones, portable audio players, low-power DSP core supplies, and battery-powered IoT devices requiring high efficiency and small solution size.
