TPS78218DDCR TI Voltage Regulators - Linear, Low Drop Out (LDO)
The TPS78218 is a 150mA ultra-low quiescent current LDO with fixed 1.8V output, operating from 2.2V to 5.5V input. It features extremely low quiescent current of 500nA typical (1µA maximum), making it suitable for battery-powered always-on applications. Dropout voltage is 120mV at 150mA. The device includes thermal shutdown, current limiting, and reverse current protection. Output is stable with ceramic capacitors as small as 1µF. Small SOT-23-5 package enables compact design. Selection is optimal for battery-powered always-on applications requiring nanoampere quiescent current. Applications include wearable electronics, wireless sensor nodes, hearing aids, coin cell-powered devices, and energy harvesting systems where minimal power consumption is critical for extended battery life.
