The TRS3232ECDR is a dual-channel RS-232 line driver/receiver from Texas Instruments, consisting of two drivers and two receivers. It operates from a single 3V to 5.5V supply and meets the requirements of TIA/EIA-232-F and ITU v.28 standards. The dual charge pump requires only four 0.1µF external capacitors for operation. The device operates at data signaling rates up to 250 kbit/s with a maximum driver output slew rate of 30 V/µs. The TIN inputs will accept 5-V logic with 3.3-V VCC supply. Proper capacitor selection for VCC voltage helps reduce ripple voltage on the TOUT outputs. The device is pin compatible with alternative high-speed device (1 Mbit/s) TRSF3232E. Housed in a 16-pin SOIC (D) package, it operates over -40°C to 85°C. Applications include notebook computers, PDAs, telecommunications equipment, battery-powered devices, and any system requiring dual-channel RS-232 communication with low power consumption.
