The TRS3232E is a dual RS-232 line driver/receiver operating from a single 3V to 5.5V supply with enhanced ESD protection up to ±15kV (IEC 61000-4-2). It features two drivers and two receivers meeting TIA/EIA-232-F standards, with a charge pump requiring only four 0.1µF external capacitors. The device supports data rates up to 250kbps and features low supply current of 300µA typical. The 'E' version provides improved ESD robustness for harsh environments. Selection is standard for industrial serial communication requiring enhanced protection. Applications include industrial handheld meters, point-of-sale terminals, telecommunications equipment, and automotive diagnostic interfaces requiring RS-232 communication with high ESD immunity.
