The TRS3232EQPWRQ1 is an automotive-grade (AEC-Q100) RS-232 line driver/receiver from Texas Instruments, consisting of two drivers and two receivers. It operates from a single 3V to 5.5V supply and meets or exceeds the requirements of TIA/EIA-232-F and ITU v.28 standards. The device features ±15-kV HBM and ±8-kV IEC 61000-4-2 (contact) ESD protection on RS-232 bus pins. The dual charge pump requires only four 0.1µF external capacitors for operation, and the device operates at data signaling rates up to 250 kbit/s with a maximum driver output slew rate of 30 V/µs. Key specifications include low supply current of 300 µA typical, acceptance of 5-V logic input with 3.3-V supply, and pin compatibility with alternative high-speed device (1 Mbit/s) TRSF3232E. Housed in a 16-pin TSSOP (PW) package, it operates over -40°C to 125°C.
