The TSB12LV32PZ (GP2Lynx) is a high-performance, general-purpose IEEE 1394a-2000 link-layer controller (LLC) from Texas Instruments, designed to handle timing-critical and protocol-specific aspects of 1394 bus communication. It supports 100, 200, and 400 Mbit/s data rates and provides seamless connectivity between a host microcontroller, the 1394 PHY-link interface, and external devices via a Data Mover port. The controller features a 2K-byte general receive FIFO (GRF) and a 2K-byte asynchronous transmit FIFO (ATF), a flexible 8- or 16-bit microcontroller interface, and a Data Mover port for high-speed data streaming. It supports isochronous reception on two channels and transmission on four channels. Housed in a 100-pin LQFP (PZ) package (14mm × 14mm), it operates from a single 3.3V supply with 5V tolerance. Applications include digital video cameras, consumer electronics, set-top boxes, and computer peripherals requiring high-speed FireWire connectivity.
