The UC3846 is a current-mode PWM controller designed for high-frequency switching power supplies. It operates from 8V to 40V and features a 500kHz oscillator frequency with dual 100mA totem-pole outputs for push-pull or forward converter topologies. The device includes precision voltage reference (5V ±1%), undervoltage lockout with 7.5V/6.8V hysteresis, and soft-start capability. Current limiting is achieved through cycle-by-cycle current sensing. The UC3846 also features double-pulse suppression and programmable dead-time control. Selection is ideal for high-performance isolated power converters.
